Hi,

I bought this kit over the weekend and now installing it to find out that the right side caliper bracket is wrong. I remember ATE, but they are no longer making this kit and finding anyone that sells them in the US is proving difficult.

Here are a few pics of the box...cheers we have one side installed successfully... but that doesn't mean much.

They look almost identical to stoptech ST-40 BBK kits...so I am hoping the brackets are available.

 

Wow, super rare for a MINI, i would reach out to ATE and they might have the drawings.

 

I can ask, the response seemed like they didnt want to help much. paper weights...

Do you have a machine shop locally? If you take the part to them and explain your problem, they may be able to "reverse engineer" a new, workable part for you. Might not be cheap, but better than scrapping everything.

 

I just met with a cool shop around the corner from my place.

We have a question, are these symmetrical? Does he simply duplicate what I currently have?

Iv attached photos of both brackets the smaller of the two is the correct part for mini cooper.

 

I was wondering how the bracket could be wrong because I was sure they are symmetrical, and you picture now explains it. I fail to see why ATE cannot simply supply you that part number, and maybe they misinterpreted what you were looking for originally.

So, yes I believe they're symmetrical.

As the parts are symmetrical, any decent machine shop should be able to copy the smaller bracket and knock one out in no time.
