Mine will do too. It's always more willing at night when the air is cool, heat soak really has an effect on the performance. I just installed my intake kit from Turner.....time to go try it out!

Sweet! My car's not even here yet, but I somehow I think that I better start budgeting for the next set of tires right now!

I should add, I followed the MINI break-in procedures to the tee and then started driving it progressively harder. It was not until I had around 2k miles on it before it really started loosening up and pulling harder. Now its way to difficult to refrain from going ***** out!

Same here. I followed the break in instructions as closely as I could for the first 1000 miles, then let rip. But I've really noticed that since I've put on 2000+ that everything seems to be peppier now.

Funny I caught this post since I just did this on the way to work this morning. It happened in an anger induced pass around an a-hole in a POS Ford pickemup truck. I wasn't paying attention and readlined it at full throttle in 2nd (I actually felt the fuel shut-off kick in). When I slapped into 3rd, to my surprise, I heard a chirp. The thing I have troble with all the time is the AST induced nose-dive that happends when I chirp to hard in 2nd. Annoying, but the Dunlops will last longer that way I guess. When I really go to race someone I always shut that traction control off. I guess I could just drive slower, naaaah.

You mean you actually drive around with that on? It's a regular part of my startup to turn it off: Get in, start car, seatbelt on, AST off, stereo up...and I'm off!

I have found that those lame run flats have incredible hook up power, the goodyears that is. I plan on getting a new set in the spring and will keep everyone posted as to any differences.
With regard to chriping third gear, when I race, i shift with the gas flat, and usually can keep traction, but every once in a while, espically if its cold out, 3rd gear will break loose, usually from taking too long to hit the gear if shifting with the gas on the floor.
