The MINI electronic network is similar to an Addressable Fire Alarm system whereas every device has an address. In this case all the fixed electrical devices on our car, does not include a light bulb or a wheel speed sensor, such as the speedometer has an address/id that the ECU recognizes. Change the device and the ECU must be updated or it will not see the "new" device.

I read a post on a FB site that some have the hardware to perform this. Do not know the cost involved but have read here that the dealers that have such a device will not even attempt it.

In all these years I have only heard of one successful Chrono Pack conversion, which was installed and programmed by a dealer using all new parts for about $2K.
