Silver/Black Cooper on its way, well Mar '03 anyway. Nearly all packages plus clear tail lamps, side/front repeaters. Got some spots too! I hate waiting - don't you?

So according to that Auto Ex. release, it pretty much stated what we were already known of and waiting for. And as per a currency converter, for that 3500(UK pounds) we're looking at $5,513.85(U.S) or $8,695.31(CDN) for that kit. And am mostly likely guessing that's not including the labour which may take a good days work, at a usual BMW mechanics wage ($96/hour, CDN). So upwards of about $800 extra on top, equals an est. $9495.31-ish(CDN) for 37 extra hp. Mind you it is warrantied additional hp, but still. Almost 10grand (CDN) for 37 horsies??
Come on. That's 1/3 of the cost of the actual car. Mind you it would be a blast, but I think I'll wait on that one for the price to lower to an insane level. Or take my chances with other aftermarket doodads, for a fraction on that price.
Just my cents worth.
Cheers,

250bhp MINI will probably last a few hundred miles ! JCW and BMW left it at 200BHP because they could guarente the reliability at that powere. 250BHP is almost as stupid as the 200BHP conversion kit for the cooper !
My thoughs anyway
Cheers

The way I understood th article is that Mini Mania is offering a 200hp turbo package for the BASE Mini cooper which would be an 85 hp gain (115 --> 200). And they have a 250hp package under development for the Mini Cooper S which would be an 87hp gain. Isn't that what you inferred from the article or did I miss something?

Does anyone know when the Cooper S Works is expected to sell in the U.S.? Evidently, at least one dealership has started a wait list for interested parties. More definitive U.S. pricing info would also be nice. Thanks in advance!
