Gas prices--Northern CA

Yesterday while going home I had to fill up my tank so I would have to deal with it in the morning. Got out started pumping Super........didn't even look at the dollar amount until I heard the "click" when full.......looked up and saw $36.75 WTF!?!??! This is the most expensive fill up yet.........just glad I am not driving and SUV but still pissed

Too bad it's not like the old days when gas was a little over a $1 gallon...wait, that was 1990!

You should be happy you're not paying UK petrol (gas) prices; probably around $6 a gallon.

In a very sadistic way I'm hoping the gas prices keep increasing to drive some of these gas-guzzling SUV owners off the road (anybody ever seen a dirty Hummer by the way?).

As cheap as that? Most stations in the San Diego area are 2.67-2.75.

Actually... I used to live in Atlanta and drove home to see my friends and family 3 hours away about 3 times a month. I specifically remember the gas station I stopped at every single time.. gas was between 89 and 91 cents a gallon.

In 1999

Wow...not here..at least I don't ever remember it being that low in 1999. But we pay more for gas then the rest of the country.

I paid $2.70 a gallon for chevron supreme yesterday.

The old days were back in the late 50s at $.20 and less a gallon.

*sigh* Yeah, my regular fillup is at least $30 these days. Hard pressed to find anywhere under $2.60/gal around here.

I just filled up this morning - $2.469 a gallon X 11.684 gallons = $28.85. Although probable not the best gas the Safeway store by my house is discounted for members.

I think that's about where gas was when the 1st shortage hit in the early 70's. I rember being alarmed when the cost to fill the tank in my Volvo 122S jumped from 3$ to 6$. Yes, that was to fill the tank! I think that had about a 15 gallon tank, so that would have been a jump from about $0.20 to about $0.40.

It's at $2.89 at the Shell by my house. Cost me $41.85 to fill the Audi, yesterday. Good thing the company pays for my gas

I remember when I was a new driver in the 60s paying about $2.30 to fill the Ford Cortina! And when the first oil crisis in '73 hit, you could only purchase gas on odd or even days, depending on your license plate! And gas had SHOT up to about 45 cents! OMG! Then in '77, when it went over 60 cents, we all thought the world was ending!

What are you guys doing all this filling up for?? I fuel up in 3-5 gallon increments to keep weight down in Brutus . Chico, our caddy like ridin Geo gets full off 8 gallons , so not much spent on gas here.

Driving my Spitfire across Colorado one summer - 1969, I think it was - some little town in the middle of a gas war, I paid 17.9 cents.

Those were the days!

I paid 69 cents in 1978 and I thought that was a lot at the time.

F$$$$$$ fuel prices

I've gone to a wednesday and sunday fill up rutine, my local fuel station takes 6 cents off premium price those two days of the week. Currently I'm paying $2.25 per gallon for 93octaine on long island. I'm getting 30 mpg with a mixture of shifting under 3000 rpm a lot and some heavy foot action.
I'm just glad I traded my 02 dodge dakota pickup truck for the 03 mcs, I did love the dakota but it burned a lot of fuel.

It's still under $2 a gallon here in NJ and they pump it for you. Self-service is illegal in NJ. Hard to believe, ain't it?
