Figure this is enough space to loosen the water pump

💯 I have a full manual for this car but it would be convenient if I was told exactly what bolts to hit to loosen the water pump just a half inch.

half inch will give way for the timing cover.

You have to remove the alternator. To get access to the upper bolt that is under the alternator.

Oh! Okay! Thank you. And I hear you on the anti seize. I wondered how you got it looking like new.

The pulley puller that I rented is too large to fit behind the camshaft sprocket.

Does unbolting the waterpp reveal another seal that must be replaced no questions asked?

The smaller seal in the package that came with the timing gaskets is too big for the cam sensor, I’m guessing it’s for the crank sensor.

I appreciate you checking in on me. While at work I’ll map out my plan of attack and hopefully have the car together by 9pm.

I am thinking

Purchase bolts
Secure timing cover
Replace crank pully seal
Afix alternator
Seat crank pully
Clean and package your tool
Mount belt tensioner
Apply belt
Re attach engine mount
Bolt down valve cover and coil pack
Reconnect battery
Pray
Turn key

If I don’t engage the chain tensioner will the car be fine on start up before oil flows through the device?

Yes it will pop put itself. Go to mini parts website. Look at engine breakdown. Should be able to identify where the long bolt goes. Also in the video she talks about the long bolt.

The lady said the long bolt goes in the middle at the 45 min mark.

Mill be at work until 6pm, and my wife was sweet enough to wake up several hours early and drive me 30 min to work after staying up late and helping with bolts and tools.

I got the water pump and alternator back on. I’m excited because there’s surely only an hour of work left.
