R53 to R56 brake swap ?

I have an R53 and found some calipers off of an R56 for around $100 . I've red on the forum about the jcw R56 brake conversion but can any one chime in on this swap ? Is there any difference, is it worth it regardless of the full set being sub $100?

I've searched the forum but had trouble finding anything , thanks

Yes it is a very nice and cost effective upgrade. You will need our stainless brake conversion lines to use them.

Then just get our WMW rotors and some EBC red pads. We've done this upgrade many times and it's basically the same as having the JCW brakes.

what way said, I think it's only worth it if you can find the calipers in the $100 or less ball park.

It is the same calipers as the R56S / R53 JCW swap, just on carriers for a 280mm disc not a 294m0.m disc. The standard R56 brake lines will fit (the fitting from the hard line is the same on R53 and R56, but since you have to buy a new style you may as well lash out and either buy new rubber or braided lines.

You can use your standard R53 276mm discs, or go to the R56 280mm discs. I am currently running these calipers and carriers with my R53 discs (until I can get new ones) and just a BFGoodrich R56 braided front kit I bough off a forum.

Don't know. I only did the fronts. I didn't think there was any difference in the rear calipers.

No point in buying rears, they are no different.

Actually the calipers are different as the R53 JCW calipers use banjo style brake lines and the R56 screw in.
As for on the body side the threads are the same, but the mounts that hold the lines on the end are a different shape so that is why we make a specific set of lines to have both ends fit the R56 caliper and R53 body side.
You may get some R56 aftermarket lines to fit the body side, but that is because they are not using a factory style end like we do on all our lines. So this can cause the line to be loose in the bracket so make sure that isn't the case.
