mini engine swap manual to automatic car

I have a 2003 mini cooper with a manual transmission. I gound a really nice 2004 mini with an automatic trans but no motor. Would i be able to pull the motor out of my manual and bolt it to the auto trans?

As long as they are both the same model, as in an S motor into an S car or non S into a non S.

Oh yeah it's the same motor, just make sure you use all the mounts in the 04 car, actually while the motor is out now is an excellent time to replace all the mounts, or install poly inserts

That would be the CVT automatic, which has a history of being problematic. Do you know how many miles on the car?

maybe i should just fix mine then. I was driveing and car stalled, wouldnt restart. This after towing home it started up. This happened a few times. So i banged on the gas tank and it fired up again. Ran for little while then stopped. I ordered new fuel filter and pump. Installed the pump and cant seem to get pressure to build at fuel rail. Dont see any leaks.

Like he said if you have a manual stick with it. The engines are the same, but that CVT trans if it is a good working trans could likely be sold for more than an engine.
