She's Done! & Used Car Service ??

Here's a couple of pictures of the totalled 2003 MCS. I bought the car off ebay it was originally sold in Baton Rouge La. If someone possibly knows the original owner I'd like to talk to them. I bought the Mini in July. It's took about 6 weeks to locate the parts and make the repairs.

Leather, Navagation, climate control, duel sunroof &, 12,000 miles.

Since last Saturday I've driven it about 450 miles.

If you purchased a used Cooper. Did the dealer still honor the free service? I'm about 400 miles from an oil change and the Mini dealer is 60 miles away. If I'm going to get "I'm Sorry...", I'd just as soon order an filter and do it my self.

Thanks,

Mike

The warranty is fully transferrable. However, you should make an appointment soon -- in some areas, you may have to wait for over a month for even a simple oil change (this is BMW's idea of great customer service...).

Thanks guys. Not the same as a Brand New one but thousands cheaper.

I'll call Century next week and see when they can work me in.

It's a Factory Five. The other Forum where I normally hang out is FFR buiders/owners. www.ffcobra.com Factory Fives site is www.factoryfive.com

The car in the garage is #2335 it's the first Cobra I built. It will be four years old in Feb. 2005. I also built #3917 last this past year and sold it. There's about 12+ kit manufacturers. There's better kits than FFR but they cost more. (FFR $11,990.00) ERA's 20ish, Superformance 30ish to 40ish and Kirkham for $60,000.00) There's some I wouldn't touch with a 50' pole. FFR is a single donor car. Don't need Chevette, Mustang II, Jag or Corvette parts. Just a wrecked 5.0 Mustang. I sold #3917 for $35,000.00. My blue car is nicer and has more HP. The blue car placed Second at SACC (Shelby America Car Club) in 2001 (replica class).

I didn't see your location but if you're close, let's go for a ride.

Can you get the FFR cars registered in CA? If so are they considered new cars?

Awesome work on the MINI BTW.

Pat,

Check the "Cobra" forums about Ca. regisration. Since I live in SC I haven't payed any attention to Ca. regisrations.

Nice job.

Did an insurance carrier really "total" that car? From the photo, that doesn't look that bad. Perhaps there is a bunch more mechanical that we can't see.

Enjoy.

Yep, car was totalled by Progressive in La. I was told that Progressive will total some cars at 40%. I'm looking for another one now. Copart has about 10 totalled cars listed now. Mechanically only the lower a-frame and left axle. Darn axles are $300.00! (Toyota axles are $80.00!) I didn't show a rear before picture but it was hit in the rear right in the left tail light. The rear hit closed the drivers side door opening up 1/4". I put it on a frame machine and pulled the left side back. The rear hit also bent the muffin.

Exhaust low... Yep, I think it is (by looking at pictures of other MCS's). The tail pipe was bent. I pulled it back right but I think I need to jack it up an inch or so. As soon as I'm around another MCS I'll check theirs out.

The exhaust should tuck right up into the bumper opening. There should be less than a finger's width between the top of the tips and the bumper.

It looks like you don't have all the hangers hooked up (there are 4), or something is seriously bent. In a stock setup, it would be nearly impossible to have the exhaust look like that with all 4 hangers connected.
