Open road, no traffic seen in the last half hour, I couldn't resist. It got to 130mph very quickly, I was scared to go faster with only one hand on the wheel !!

HeHe. Check this out:

your pic doesn't come through...I assume you are past the break-in period

I have another 600 miles to go...

oh, there's the fix...my kids asked me if the needle will bend when it hits 150...what angels

I'm guessing that curly cable on the right is some sort of radar detector?

Ah the old curly cable of the V-1. . . .

I am going to hard-wire mine into my MCS so nobody ever sees that telephone cord.

And you are 100% right. the V-1 is the only detector to own. All the others are just flashing lights and annoying beeping noises in comparison.

kesh,
I noticed you're in Atlanta. We have a project up there and we were driving around Flowering Branch (north) in a rental Cavalier. OH, how I wished I had me MINI!

Atlanta is the place to have a MINI

You are right !

Just outside of Atlanta is where they filmed the Duke's of Hazzard. The roads are paved now, but all of the twists and turns of the GA mountains are still there !!!

I love it.

Last week going to MINICOOPERPARTS out on US 27 I decided to see what my "S" could do. After hitting 134mph I had to slow down because I would have passed the place I was going to. Man does that car haul A**.

Me too! I have a speedo pic series at 110, 120 and 130. I've had it up to 135 on a a deserted highway. Some long stretches of road on Rt. 95 in northern Maine where there is almost no traffic make for some fun driving.

I did between 110-120mph, wasn''t keep in that speed for long, I wish I have a valentine one....

plus I think the car is stable and sticky in high speed 'til about 120 and above 120 it is still steady but not comfortable, a little bump would jump you from the seat a bit.

I got mine up to 135 in the Blue Mountain tunnel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. I would have gone faster, but my autonomic nervous system's "self-preservation" instinct kicked in, overrode my gleeful brain, and pulled my foot off the gas!

I am getting mine in january but I took the dealer demo up to 134 MPH on the A6 autobahn headed toward manheim outside of kaiserslautern. Almost as fun as my F-16 ride as a 2 LT. It convinced me to buy one.

Are you sure about this? I have read more than one review that the V1 is weak on KA band, the one that's hardest to detect and more and more police are using. I have read that the bel 950 (I think that's the number) or the Escort 8500 are actually better and much cheaper.

Anyone else researched this much?

Craig

You stopped at 135, huh? I think that had more to do with the your MINIs electronic speed governer than your autonomic nervous system
