I've hit 109 on the street, and 145 on our mph dyno. The givernor doesn't cut it off since it measures speed from the rear wheels... This is for a normal Cooper. When I get my S, I'll try again.

 

If you want teh ultimate radar detector, just get yourself a CB radio ($100, plus $20 for a magnetic antenna) and turn it on Ch. 19. The truckers will tell you where all the cops are... and if they don't, you can always ask. :smile: And I drive FAST. Averaged 95 mph on the Penna turnpike from Cleveland to near Philly.

 

I hit 125mph easy on my way to Vegas for the SEMA Show. It certainly had room to go too...I had to slow down for traffic. Im guessing 130mph is well within reach.
Mine is a standard Cooper with an Intake and Magnaflow exhaust.

For the sake of conversation, my 2.0 New Beetle maxes out at 128mph and is screaming like a banshee. The Cooper is much more "comfortable" at high speed.

 

136 is the best i did, mind that in warm weathers the car looses some bhp
