Anyone on (was on) the Waiting list at MINI North Scottsdale? I was wondering how long you've been on the list or if you were on the list how long did it take you to place your order?

Just ask for Jeff Moews (sales manager) and sweet talk him about how you are a mini affectionato and owned previous classice minis (do your homework), ask him to go with you on a test drive, rave about it and that you have to have one and will tell everyone you meet how great North Scottsdale Mini is yada yada yada...supposedly there were 191 on the wait list ...I did my speal, was never on the list, put 2k down and got a MCS in one month....unfortunately Jeff sold me a lemon, laugh....Debbie Hillary is nice there, but she has no pull on the wait list, Jeff told her to get me a car and take my 2k deposit which is the buy list vs the 1k deposit which is just the wait list....

forgot...also got the car at MSRP, no nonsense with tinted glass, undercoating, paint protection, etc etc....dealer add ons....which was kind of surprising snce they had minis sitting there for 2k plus over sticker, but those were minis they bought at auction and not their allotment of monthly deliveries.....

I got mine there last Summer and did not have to wait too long. Anyway, they were the best group that I talked to; honest and straigt forward and helpful. I think Jeff Mews is gone. Debbie Hillery was terrific. Deal with her and Mini North Scotsdale even if you have to wait. Also, they are one of the few dealerships that really do sell at MSRP.

Jeff is gone (read my review of the dealership in the ratings section).

I've been on the list to order since June! Still waiting... Supposedly I was over 1000 at the time. Not once, with all the asking, have I figured out what number I truely am. I've asked many times to find out what number, but they never tell.

How long were you on the waiting list to order one from the factory?

don't you know how these car dealer waiting lists work?

Top 10 on the list

1. friends of Penske
2. mistresses
3. girlfriends
4. wifes
5. friends
6. paying over MSRP
7. trade ins on porshes & bimmers that trade in undervalued
8. VIP's
9. persistent afectionatos paying cash, laugh!
10. others that think waiting lists are legitimate

For the most part, the waiting lists on the hot cars have always been pretty much a joke, meaning they don't take them in order of first come, first serve, laugh

waiting list? I guess I got lucky. I walked right into Crevier on 9-29 and placed my order. As soon as their new production number allotment opened up on Oct. 1, I got mine and my order went in on 10-02. I'm going to have to pay over MSRP, but I'm going to have a MINI hopefully by the end of this month as opposed to next summer.

Yes, waiting list. Didn't MINI North Scottsdale tell you that when you walked in? How did you skip the wait list???

>>I walked right into Crevier on 9-29 and placed my order.

You must have ordered a non-S. There's no wait for the Cooper, just for the Cooper S.

I think the PC term is "Cooper".

I walked into MINI North Scottsdale and bought my Cooper S off of the Showroom floor for MSRP. I had never talked to anyone there before and at that time they had Two Electric Blue and A Dark Silver on the floor. They also had some that were used and over MSRP. I did add tinted windows and floor mats both of which I wanted. Call it dumb luck or whatever but I got everything I wanted with no wait and no premium.

I guess I'm having to wait since I'm not buying from the showroom floor...

Do I sound snobby when I say "non-S"?

I just picked up my MCS on Halloween. Mine was a long wait but well worth it.
I was on the waiting list for over a year. I passed up my time to order a car back
April in order to order a 2003 model in Liquid Yellow instead of one of the two 2002 colors avaialble. I placed my order in August, it was built in September, and scheduled to be delivered on October 12th. Due to that Dock Strike, it pushed my car back almost 3 weeks. Debbie Hillary put up with my daily phone calls until it arrived. I must say that she was a good sport!

OK, who'd you deal with at the dealership? Did you do anything special to get "same day service"?

The difference here is that Don ordered his MCS at Crevier, which is in Santa Ana, CA.

Cheers,

Leslie

We (wife and I) are on the waiting list at North Scottsdale. We only got on it last month. It will probably be 1 year until we drive it home, but that timing is great for us.

I'm on the list as of a few weeks ago, buit I couldn't wait the 1-1.5 years for the S, so I'll get my dream car in a Cooper, which is no slouch itself. This after spending a lot of time hoping an unclaimed S would make it's way to me in the options I wanted.
