R50/53 R56 steering wheel fit 1st gen cooper s?

R56 steering wheel fit 1st gen cooper s?

Guys im new to the mini world. i need help with this. i bought this R56 steering wheel and was wondering if this wheel would fit my R53? also the airbag i bought separately from a clubman. will it work? or should i just sell everything?

It will not work. the splines are different. only way to make it work would be to have a machine shop machine the splines to match and add a key way. A lot of fabrication.

I know this is off topic, but am I the only one who likes the 1rst gen, pre-facelift steering wheels? I'll give you that they're not the best looking wheels, but I love how it feels in my hands, and I like having the multi function/stereo controls on the back. That way, I can change the radio without moving my hands at all.

I did like the MFSW feature. But the JCW wheel is oh so plush in my hands. it was worth the upgrade.

any of you guys know exactly what mini cooper models and years this all will fit on? i have it up for sale on ebay.

The splines are the same, the horn is plug&play save changing the connectors, the airbag requires a bit of fiddling if you dare
