Torque Specs

I’m sure this has been discussed in the past, but just looking for verification...

I recently changed the stock wheel bolts to studs; got those torqued per ECS Tuning, but ECS says the new lug nuts should be torqued to factory specs per your particular model...
So, what is that number? I read from NAM those specs are 103 ft-lbs but I’ve also seen conflicting numbers as low as 80 ft-lbs.

Any thoughts? THX!

depends on the year: In 2002 81 fl/lb was correct and for so long as the same bolts and jugs were used (Haynes says this figure is correct thru 05). Near the end of GEN1 they moved to the heavier lugs which eventually were on the GEN2 and the number went up ....

outmotoring listing for replacement lug: "In August of 2006 MINI switched to a 14mmx1.25 lug. Older MINIS use a 12x1.5."

Yep, m12 to m14 in 7/2006. M14 is 103 ft-lb 7/2006+, ~85 ft-lb was m12 2002-7/2006. I am here most of the time and you can PM me if you need.

I was thinking the same thing; my R53 was late 2006 (10/2006)
Got my new studs installed, 20mm spacers, and all torqued to specs! And it was all from ECS! You guys are the best!
I have more things on order; delayed shipping until 12/15, but I’ll consider it a Xmas gift!

THX!
