^read topic...I did a double take when i saw a trailer for this movie! Although I think it is an old MINI, it is still pretty cool to see them on the big screen! Take THAT, people who think they arent being advertised enough! Also I hear some rumors about Austin Powers 3..can anyone confirm?

YES! It was an old model. This was a great chase scene that lasted about 7 minutes.

DAMON: Do you take good care of this car?
WOMAN: Um... Yes, it pulls to the left a little though...
They speed away darting in and out of traffic, burning the cops like mad.

~aproaching a staircase of about 20 steps ~
DAMON: Hang on, bump.
~ MINI vaults down stairs ~

Aside from the MINI, I thought this was a great movie and reccomend it to anyone who like a Bond like film.

Now I'm patiently waiting for Austin....

A note about MINI not advertising... they will be. I'm sure you've all seen the short videos they make with the bulldog or the bobby or the mime or the truck driver, and so on. Well, I was told that soon they will be playing those before a movie in theaters when they play all the trailers of upcoming movies. We'll see if it really happens and how long it takes. With Austin Powers driving a new MINI, they're really plugging it- that'll reach an enormous audience! Even kids not old enough to drive will want one. Hey, this car sells itself even before it's produced by the factory! People are buying cars that don't even exist yet. The demand doesn't get much greater than that. It would be so easy to be a MINI salesman! Ka-ching!

Just as I told my salesman... like shooting fish in a barrel. He was slightly amused

If it's a trend that leads to more Austin Powers movies, count me out.

I saw "The Bourne Identity" and it was a great movie, MINI chase scenes and all...During that scene there are a couple of brief extreme close-ups of the MINI logo on the steering wheel as Damon is spinning it around...talk about placement!!! However, it is an older model. I think that "Austin Powers" will send it over the top. My only hope is that the production numbers remain relatively low so the MINI does not become the Suzuki Samurai of 2002. I lived in Denver in the mid-eighties and everybody and their brother had one of those....but where are they now...anyone???? See my point? The MINI deserves better. Quality not Quantity.

Just an awesome advertisement for MINI, too bad it wasn't the new car, but storyline would have had to be adjusted, although woman qualified for mini target market........nice goosebumps though as a proud mini owner.........PS...nice article on mini in USA Today today...........
