Stupidest Q you'll ever read...

...I opened the glove box to look for something and noticed a black plastic cylinder attached to the left side, looks kinda like a 35mm film canister... Uhmmmmmm, what's it for?

I think it's the control to turn the AC on or off in your glove box. I've used the AC glove box feature a couple of times when driving between CA and Arizona in the summer. Going across the desert it's nice to be able to keep food cold!

Ok, are yous guys BSin' me, I can imagine a consipracy to keep me in the dark about this What is it, REALLY... passenger seat ejector, rocket launcher, SC boost control... The sunglass pocket was a stroke of genius, but an AC for the glovebox is lameass. If the glovebox had a keg mount&spigot I could understand the logic, but it just don't make sense. Make more sense to have a boot-mounted DC powered cooler with a cute little MINI logo on the lid, and maybe a slide-out table, grill, and a coupla folding stools, they could offer it as the "Mini tailgate option" Hmmmmmmmm, I see a MINI cottage industry in my future, I'm just TOO damn clever

Nope. Not BS'in you. Check out the 'Manual of Motoring', p. 3. Or just go for a drive around the block with the AC on and check the glove box when you stop. If it isn't cold, turn the 'mystery ****' and do it again. It'll be cold, guarantee it.

Sooooooooo, if the AC blowin' outta the dash vents ain't coolin' the car to my liking, maybe I should turn the **** and leave the glove box open. Next question: Does the light REALLY got out when you close the glovebox door

Actually no. If you have the heat on, it vents in cool outside air. The glovebox allways gets cold air unless you have the heat on and it's hot outside. In which case please motor directly to the nearest hospital to get your thermostat adjusted!

wow. you just quoted "manual or motoring" probably from memory.

you must immediately be sedated and be made into a mini customer service rep.

"we're sorry you're having trouble with your glovebox doo-dad. please call us at 1-888-ask-mini and refer to case #2348691032487139856190468473985687324609845734896 2387460238975603487648732752386

Nope, not from memory. I have a bunch of MINI 'stuff' in my home office and I dug it out for reference.
