A fully automated way to protect your vehicle outside!

I was hoping to get some of your feed back on my new patent.

In summary:

I have just completed and obtained a patent pending for my newest invention!

The fully automated channeled retractable vehicle cover provides protection to any vehicle. The cover can be sized and fabricated to provide protection to a number of different vehicles including cars, trucks, boats, ATV’s, motorcycles, bicycles, etc. The enclosure is fabricated to accommodate generic sized vehicles and can also be sized for a specific vehicle. This allows for standard or custom enclosures depending upon the need of the vehicle owner.

The retractable vehicle cover provides a fairly rigid shell to protect from objects falling on the cover and also to protect from snow loads. While the enclosure is intended to protect a vehicle that is placed in an outside area, it can also be installed in a garage to provide protection from dust or from people rubbing against the enclosed vehicle.

The telescoping enclosure allows the enclosure to retract and occupy a small footprint when the vehicle is not in the cover.

The vehicle cover integrates seals to provide protection from the elements. The seal not only protects from wind and rain, but also from rodents and insects that can accumulate in a vehicle if it is left unattended for a continued period of time.

Production will begin very soon for those interested!

My first thought is that since it's not portable it will require a permanent install. That more than likely means somewhere on your own personal property. How would the cost compare to the cost involved in building a one car garage where other things can also be stored?

I was thinking the same thing. If you have to permanently mount it to a concrete pad, or some other structure....what's the advantage of having it retractable? Also, in the winter months....do you think you will have any issues with water getting into the moving parts and freezing....causing damage?

I've seen this on you tube with a guy and his motorcycle. For smaller things I think it could work. For a car I'm not sure.

You say it keeps out rodents and insects? How does it seal to the ground to keep small critters and insects out?

edit: Cool motorcycle storage - YouTube
I have seen that motorcycle storage idea, it's not patented in America, my system has a full sweep from the bottom of the units to the ground outside of the wheels so you have a complete seal when it is extended.

How much will it cost delivered and installed?

Congratulations! I'm curious about the patenting process. How much time and expense did it take to reach this point? Are you now just waiting for a patent to be issued, or still more steps you have to go through?

It would appear it rolls on wheels....so even with a "seal" water could still flow under it...so it would not be bug-free....
My concern might be parking your car in a giant breadbox....getting it baked...not totally sure it might not encourage some of the activities you say it would protect the car from....both people and animals/insects, mold, and mildew...but I guess that's the fact of life if you want too keep it portables...
Perhaps a small solar panel on the roof and a small fan to keep air moving might be a good....
Good luck, with your hopes and needs...but I see in a snowy area it might be a major issue getting the car out....
So maybe a pitched roof, for both strength strongest shape is a triangle, a flat surface bows under weight....think a skateboarder on the roof or a couple feet of snow.., and to shead weather....and make it stronger from an engineering standpoint....

Great questions, a pitched roof version is included in the patent for snow loads.
