Snow too heavy for convertible?
Snow too heavy for convertible?
I'm a total MINI noob, having bought my 2013 Roadster two weeks ago. We had a pretty bad winter here in Washington, DC where I'll be parking street-side. The snow had come down and covered cars with a few feet. Then most of us were shut-in since plows took a few days to dig us out, during which it was hard to even walk through the neighborhood, just to potentially clean off the top. Any experience, knowledge or tips?
Thanks

Hello,
Get a snow brush with very soft bristle and then clean off the car, be carefull on the soft top and the soft top window. I have a convertible and drive it on studded snow tires in the winter. Just dont use the top when its icy and not dry. Also tread the top in the spring and it will held bead the water and snow off. Twice a year is good to treat and condition the top.
Soft Top Cleaner - 16oz

Then wash off and leave top wet, dilute replant in a bit of water and apply with a sponge. Then let dry. you have to watch the paint with the repellent as if not careful it leaves a this clear film on the paint. I set towels around the back on the body if a spray it with a nozzle bottle on.

I had allot of snow over the years since 2005 and the top is very strong. 262K miles latter.
Thanks
