1st time post here:

2003 Mini, was starting to have steering issues: hard steering. I know there's a recall on the PS pump but i haven't had that work done yet.
anyway, yesterday, go to unlock door and power locks wouldn't operate, had to use key to get in. went to start and no power, in fact nothing has power.
attempted to jump and still couldn't start.

with the PS pump issues, is there any chance that the pump has caused damage to the BC1?

I'll give you a bump up, but there are so many things this could be. What have you checked?
Battery?
Alternator?
Accessory drive belt?
Tried a jump-start?

Start with the basic checks for a dead battery.
