I hopped in the car this morning to head to work and when I turned the headlights on....instead of them pointing low when turned on and then popping up after a few seconds when the auto-leveling system kicks this...this time they both just stayed down.
I was under the assumption that each headlight has it's own leveling motor setup in it.......so why would both of them quit working? Is there a different fused circuit providing power for the leveling motors in each light? Maybe a fuse blew?
I'm going to dive in and start doing some trouble shooting after I get home from work today....just thought I might ask on here to see if anyone has had this issue before.......
Jack up car, see if the arm of the level sensor is hung up or broken. I have seen where one of the arms will sometimes rest/rub against the cable covering of E-Brake cable. The sensor is made of black plastic, with rivet hinge set up.
Ok...so I did a little more troubleshooting tonight. Both of the sensors along with their linkage looks ok. For years....when I have turned my headlights on....they are first pointed pretty low for a few seconds....then they will raise up to the proper level and "auto level" out.
Now.....when I turn the headlights on.....they start out really high, then drop down really low, then jump up three times...a little at a time until they are around the correct height. The motors in the lights sound kind of weird....something definitely is not right with them.
Could one of the sensors be bad? How can you test them to find out?
Nothing to offer here, but I just wanted to get in on the discussion.
Mine have recently stopped working as well, but a little differently than yours. When I turn the headlights on they start out really low, and never jump up to the correct height.
Now, to drive to work early morning, I have to use the high beams full time, but they sit at a level lower than the normal low beam. .

Check both the front and rear level sensors, also check the electrical connection at those plug points. See if the metal tabs are bent also. 37146784698 & 37146853759
