What do you mean? They took a boring old mini and gave it a really nice PT Cruiser makeover.

Now that I think about it more, perhaps ordering the MINI was a mistake since I can get that fake wood trim PT Cruiser straight from the factory. . . .

Take the "Woody" look away and it looks pretty slick.
Let's not try to make the MINI look like a PT cruiser!!

No wonder the SEMA event seems to get little attention and respect from the automotive press. Not only for the customized MINIs but for the whole "Riceish" flavor of the exhibit.

I'm with gross67, if you stop trying to milk the retro/pt "look", it would be interesting to see what comes of a car that is so heavily modded in regards to aero kits other than the factory one. I always love seeing photos from shows like this, because so many cars are sporting 20"+ rims and the reality of it is, most of them couldn't make it out of the parking lot, and they cheat with airbag suspensions and at shows just drop it to the ground, literally. Glad you all enjoyed, I'll try to find some more absurd mini pics for your amusement. Blake

woody MINI...how cool! just because the PT cruiser thought of it first doesn't mean that brining back the ol' surf wagon is a bad idea.

Egads... I've heard a report that there's a MINI fake woody around WNY, but as it was from a 3rd party, i'm not sure what to think about it... but egads... bad rims, and bad fake wood? Heck, if you wanted to milk the retro look, ditch the big rims, and show some sidewall..

but really, the only good woody, is a REAL one.. they are beautiful cars... fake ones, well, it's like an old woman with pink hair....

I'm with the guys who like to have fun and push the envelope a little with an already cool vehicle. I mean, isn't that the whole idea of MINI- to be a little wacky? Although I may prefer a different look for my MCS, it doesn't mean I douse someone else's enthusiasm to get creative. So, plastic woodgrain, fake fur on the dash, whatever floats your boat. After all, these are not million-dollar Ferraris, they are meant to be used, modified, enjoyed, and and just plain MOTORED.

Besides, if the late great Alec Issigonis were around, he would probobly hate the new MINI- too many creature comforts and a (gasp!) RADIO! They say he felt radios had no place in cars, because they distracted the driver.

Aaaaahhhh...much better...I knew I wasn't alone!!!

I agree...go nuts...we should all appreciate whatever people do to thier cars to make it fun and unique.

I'm waiting to see some really wacky things that people have done. I'd think that the MINI would be the perfect springboard into the wacky-pool.

Look at us! we're not normal...we're MINI PEOPLE!!!!!

Kudos to those in favor of supporting the customizing of cars. Of course that doesn't excuse anyone for ill-planned mods and just down right bad taste. But with a bit of work I think this mini could be interesting, to see a spectacle of awful modifications done to cars check out this site, you will never laugh and cry so hard in your intire life.
