R50/53 Pic of Crazy Mini at SEMA
"May the person responsible for creating this hideous transformation be set for an upcoming bankruptcy, have the MINI repoed, and given to a REAL MINI entusiast to be then reconstructed into something more pleasing to the eyes."
I think I will say that prayer to the 'car gods' every night for as long as I know it's out there in that condition.
That's no way to treat a MINI. For shame!
I mean, I'm all for supporting aftermarket products and individualizing a vehicle, but there are limits and borders as to what's tasteful and tasteless. I agree with "To each their own." But the creator has to be ready for both sides of any feedback.
I really don't understand the 'Woody' faze that seems to be growing AGAIN though.
Cheers,

>>really everyone...is there nobody that thinks it's kinda cool?

>>am I alone here?!!?!?

One guy's tasteless monstrosity is another's Michaelangelo. I'm reminded of this everytime I see the latest chrome doodad my brother has bolted onto his Yamaha. But I never associate his 'Easy Rider' taste with any character flaw, nor do I harbor any secret hope he and his shiny friend meet with any bad karma because of it.
Like the other day as he watched this flamed and lowered Civic with 20 inch wagon wheels and God's own bass drum thumping the pavement, he shrugged and said, "That's their thing, bro..."
So yeah, some of customize our cars. And yeah, others may not agree with the results. But we are NOT our cars- they're just another part of our lives. Which is why I'm somewhat leery of folks making snap judgements about a person based on their choice of ride, or what they do with it.

Umm wait just a minute. Mini tradition has always including making the car your own. So let's not try to be so SNOBBY

Sweet! I didn't realize that. I thought that the woodies were an American thing, but know I see that there is a British woody tradition too. I look forward to seeing a really nice looking new MINI Countryman
Thanks for the tip DVLMINI.

>>...at least there isn't a TRD sticker on it....
Sorry , no test pilots or looking under the hood. Buy it as is.
Sorry, just needed to vent. And as well to to throw out some curiousity questions on why they do this sort of thing. Individual tastes just isn't enough of an excuse in my books. There's no excuse that I can see fit.
