This forces me to order Black leatherette since I don't want to spend $1300.00 on real leather and dont like the look of space cloth with the anthracite trim.

Yes, and I have other issues with the configurator as well. At this point I'm not sure what's fact or fiction. I'd choose black octagon cloth for my sport seats, too, but it only allows me to select space cloth. I expect we'll be hearing more about all this controversy in the near future on this and other issues.

I don't think it is a mistake, probably just not available with sport seats

That's a pity...guess I'll have to go with space cloth. Sport seats are a very popular Cooper upgrade and kaliedo cloth was available for them...that's what I have on my '03 sport seats. I guess I would have thought octagon was a simple styling replacement for kaleido. Guess not.

Yeah, I know, I really can't believe MINIUSA wouldn't offer it with the sports seats again???? I wonder why? I just don't like the look of the space cloth, don't like the silver, just too bright IMO.

///ACS330Ci -- What's up with your website? I clicked on it and got several pop up menus for advertisements that were really hard to close.

The Carpassion website has some weird pop-ups sometimes, but my website doesn't have any. I don't know what's up with the one's sometimes on Carpassion, if you hit "F5" they'll go away though. I guess that's the price you pay when using a free website

Some of these issues have been discussed before recently on a post complaining about the '05 configurator not being ready yet. Then, all of a sudden it is...er...ready, sort of. I've given it a look see a few times now, and it certainly bothers me that, for the most part, there seems to be less you can do with options now. There are also some weird items, like Liquid Yellow being listed as a metallic color, when before it wasn't...for years! There was no announcement about this, so...?

So, what gives? I'm not sure, and I don't think MINI is all that sure either. My '05 LY/B MC, that I ordered earlier this year, back when we still had no configurator, is on it's way. I have no idea if it'll show up (just a few more weeks now, oh boy!) with the cloth sport seats I ordered, or not. I'm also curious if I'll get a metallic yellow paint job, and get charged for it. If I don't get the Octagon cloth, which color leatherette do I get? (I liked the black, not so hot on the gray/black combo.) Or, maybe I'll get standard seats, in Octagon cloth? Or, maybe I'll get exactly what I ordered, and feel pretty darn lucky. I'm, apparently, supposed to be one of the relative few in the US to get the anthracite headliner, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. (So far, I know of no one that actually got this option on an early order '05 model.)

So, I'll just have to wait and see. If my car is wrong enough, will I pass on buying it when it's delivered to the dealer? Lord, I don't know, but now that's something I'll have to consider, which I'm truly angry at MINI about. Especially so, as right now I'm turning in my current lease car to the dealer, today. (This is the last day of the lease.) Since I still have a few weeks to go before my MINI delivery (2 weeks? 3 weeks?), I'll be renting a car in the meantime to get around town. If my car turns out so wrong, because of MINI's new option policy, I'll have (maybe) waisted some money that I could have put to buying some other car choice, off a local dealer's lot. (Hmmm...what would I buy? A Scion xA, perhaps? Or...who knows, I hate even just thinking about it.)

All in all, I'm likely going to buy the MINI, and I'm guessing it's all going to turn out ok. Let's face it though, that could just be wishful thinking on my part, eh? (And I so, so very much liked those pics of Octagon cloth sport seats over at MINI2. Sigh.)

I'll let everyone know how it goes. But, even if that one purchase turns out ok, it may mean absolutely nothing to other prospective buyers. When people here say owning a MINI is fun, I had no idea they meant in a wild, make you barf, loop-d-loop rollercoaster sort of way!
