Beanbag, you have great taste, but how come NO one has mentioned Radiohead?? Okay, just so that's my favorite band....along with some compilations I have made, which include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, Nirvana, Pearl Jam....

Motorin' CD

Just got done making my Motoring CD and it includes the following:

Three Days Grace-Just Like You
Yellow Card-Ocean Avenue
Black-eyed Peas-Hey Mama
Hoobastank-The reason
Five for Fighting-100 years
Frankie J-Don't Wanna Try
Sum 41- Hell song
Bowling for Soup-Girl All the Bad Guys Want
Chevelle-Send the Pain below
Nelly-Air Force One
ColdPlay-Clocks

Just to name a few.... Gotta put songs on the CD that let you turn up the bass a little bit, right? I close out the CD with Tim McGraw's "Live like you were dying".....

Thanks, Jennscooper. I never have thoroughly listened to any of Radiohead's CDs. THere are songs that I do like, but not entire records. Maybe I should pick up OK Computer to start.

Do you play the geetar?

Yep, He's tryin' to kill this runaway train but not before I list the first two cuts I'm burning into a "road" disk.....

Some Santana to set the atmosphere - burning insense required

Followed by Radar Love - Oh yea! that one's cranked!

We Want The Funk

I'm not sure WHAT it is, but the minute I got my Mini I had this strong urge to listen to funk. The first thing I did when picking up my Mini was toss in an Earth Wind and Fire CD. Don't laugh (I like all kinds of music and have been know to be somewhat of a rocker) but with the Harman Kardon, hearing the horns is just amazing. So from there I have put in everything from Red Hot Chili Peppers, to Donna Summer (Bad Girls of course) and the two songs that have become my mini theme music... 1. Brick House (remake by Rob Zombie and Lionel Richie - though how they did this without giving one another cooties I have no idea) and 2: Mustang Sally (Tom Jones). I've also had the Pulp Fiction soundtrack, and some old 60s brit music like The Turtles. But the funk just seems like it belongs in my little green Mini. But I guess the way I look at it, just pick something that makes you feel great, that makes you feel like you stand out (because in a mini you do) and you're guaranteed a fun ride. And I'll admit it, there's something sexy about cranking Brick House, swinging into a parking spot and then stepping up outta my car and watching heads turn. It's so fun!!! Yes, embrace the Mini lifestyle

Yes. How did you know? I play guitar and a little violin in a band. Pick up the Bends to start. Or Hail to the Thief. Then Ok Computer and so forth. Awesome driving music! Their songs have a broad range of frequencies and sound that can really show off the sound system. And energy.

Tiger Army! good call..

lately ive been listening to chill stuff: hayden, matt pond pa, belle and sebastian, the polyphonic spree. The fast stuff just gets me too heated when I'm stuck in traffic but wishing i was hugging some turns.

oh yeah, and modest mouse, theres always at least one of their cds in my car at all times.

Best Motoring Song?

What is the best song to listen to while driving the MINI? I want to make a mix CD for when I drive on the twisty bits....

My first thought, Tom Petty, "Running Down a Dream"

I think "Hotel California" by the Eagles is an excellent song for motoring. Wouldn't you agree??

Danger Zone from the Top Gun Soundtrack...

The only decent part of my 45 mi commute this summer was a twisty road from the highway to work. Used to put on Danger Zone right when we got off the highway for the blast down that road. Made me smile early in the morning before heading into my cubicle

One of my new favorites... Ride a Cowboy by Big & Rich ...and if you don't like country, go for the James Bond driving theme (and keep your eye on your speedo as it seems to somehow add an extra 20 mph when you're not watching)
