schwaben Mini/bmw scan tool

anyone familiar with this tool? it says performs most adaptions. does this mean it can clear a long term adaptive code like a PO2096 code?

I wonder if this tool varies from the ones sold on eBay. The eBays seem to have the save abilities but I was unable to code my R53 with it though.

Haven't seen that one, but the Bavarian Technik tool is a factory scan tool emulator, meaning that it sees all proprietary modules, clears all codes, and even datalogs. It's basically a factory tool on your laptop.

if only it worked with Mac, it's 2016 we need Mac compatible software.

We plan on testing this more soon. There are lots of different things it does between chassis . Most adaptations can programmed / reset and it programs the new module to factory ( old setting ). Most of all, it will read faults in the car more in-depth like HVAC faults, ABS faults and will tell you will corner is bad. Found some old log info on battery faults due to a low voltage battery, like a history lesson on your MINI. More of a in depth scanner then coder.

The more info we find for MINI specifics per chassis we will post up.

We use an ancient dedicated laptop in the shop. It works great and would cost about $25 on Craigslist.

Exactly. But don't be fooled, that doesn't mean that the program isn't sophisticated. Talking to a car isn't like video editing: it doesn't need tons of processing speed. Even with an arsenal of professional scan tools, we still use the BavTech for certain tasks.
