I don't even know if "cutting out" is the right way to describe it, but under quick acceleration, my 02' feels like it's not getting spark? I dropped in an MSD coil and it helped a little and smoothed out the idle, but it still does it, mostly when you have to jump on it quick, like flooring it to merge on the highway, etc. Smoothly accelerating it doesn't do it. Plugs look good, wires look good visually. Any ideas?

 

In no order, I would personally:

Change spark plugs (only takes 10 minutes!)
Replace coils/wires
Check/replace fuel filter
Check fuel pressure. If it's low, get a new fuel pump
Check/replace air filter

Fuel pump dying on me caused this once, spark plugs did to to me once as well, bad wires from coil pack did it to me another time.

Still cutting out? Then let's talk.

 

Do you have a CEL? Have you plugged in to your OBD to see if any codes are present? Would you describe it as a stutter? When's the last time you replaced the spark plugs/wires? Check out this NAM thread here.
