R50/53 Extended Warranty/Service Contract
Extended Warranty/Service Contract
I bought my 2003 MCS used in July, the previous owner bought an extended warranty. I paid $40 to transfer it to me. Has anyone had any experiences, good or bad, with an extended warranty. Fidelity Warranty Services is the name of the company. The original owner paid $1650 for it, I have never bought one on any of my new vehicles, they always seemed like a rip off to me.

I have the extended warranty also bought it online directly from the warranty company when my MINI was at 45K for $1650 4 years 100K miles, THDUKE is a 2003 delivered on 1/31/2003 now has 56K miles and every thing still covered, I am sure by 75K miles I will need lots of work due to all the track days on THDUKE so I will get my $1650 worth when the time comes. Just think of it like this if the gear box ever needs work every thing except the clutch is covered even my GPS is covered.
I was refering to the fabric and paint protection when I wrote "I think they saw her coming".

I bought an extended warranty on the last three cars I've purchased (except the Mini, and I will probably do it before the current warranty is up), and I've always made my money back in repair costs. The $1,650 cost does seem high, but dealers can negotiate those prices like anything else.
If you go aftermarket warranty, make sure you review the financial rating of the underwriter of the policy/coverage.
I think on one policy, I paid about $1,050, and it returned a few thousand in coverage for a transmission, steering rack, radiator, etc.
