Any 215/45/17 tires that will actualy last??
I’m getting ready to buy another set of set tires. My mini had runflats on it when I bought it back in 2011. When those wore out I put some G-Force Sport tires on it and those wore out with around 16,000 miles on them. Then I put a set of Sumitomo HTR III’s….and they have around 15,000 miles on them and I think I’ll have to replace them soon. For a daily driver that never sees the track, and gets mostly driven on the highway….is there a 215/45/17 tire I can put on my car that will last longer. Something that would go 20,000, or even 30,000 miles before wearing out would be great. Is that possible?
I've never changed tires this often on a car/truck. Even the huge Nitto Terra Grapplers I run on my truck will go 50,000 miles before being worn out.

I just installed Michelin Pilot Sport AS3's , came with a 45K warranty, so far the best tire I have had, I'll be happy if I can get 25K out of it. I am on my 4th set of tires in 13K , I am very **** about tires.
You are on your 4th set in 13,000 miles?? You only get 3,250 miles on a set of tires?? Am I reading that right? If so.....are you sure you don't have some alignment /suspension issues? Or is it a track car?
not exactly, first factory set was run flats, ditched them ASAP, hated them, then ran DW's, started to wear fast and then I bought new wheels, went to 17's . Then put 5K on Khumo ecsta AST's, and they were down to 4/32's , no alignment issues, very even wear but I basically track my car every day, I love driving hard and fast.
There is rubber all over my parking lot at work that the tread pattern matches mine LOL

If I knew that expensive tires would last longer than the cheap ones.....i would get them. But what's the point of paying more for "better" tires of they don't last any longer? If better tires cost 50% more...but I'm only getting 25% more life out of them...well, do the math......

What's your time worth?
There's this wonderful company called Tire Rack that has reviews, specs and detailed information about buying tires.
According to Tirerack....the G-Force Sports I had rate 4 out of 5 stars....and have a tread life score of "Excellent.
The Sumitomo HTR ZIII's also rate 4 out of 5 starts, and have a tread life score of "Excellent".
So as you can see.......just because tires rate good on tirerack doesn't mean that are all that great. Both the G-Force tires and HTR ZIII's were dead after 15,000 miles or so.
i think the OP is looking for a decent lasting tire that performs..... I am currently running the HTR z3 as well, I love them, you could go with the Pilot power AS3, loose some grip, gain life. Pilot powers have a 30k mile warranty, but for most they don't last that long.
you will just have to justify the UTG rating and the Traction for what you want. honestly I am super satisfied with the sumi's and will most likely get them again, at their price point I don't mind swapping them 15k-20k miles

...Road Noise is also a consideration.
I have a set of Goodyear GT and they are super grippy with great wear, but rather loud when compared to the set of Yokohamas I have on the other R53. And the Continentals I have on the R52 have been fantastic on wear, but not as grippy as I would like... but they do make it really easy to squeal them off the line and when shifting gears... but they are Run Flats and when paired up with a sports suspension they can be a bit harsh on secondary roads ...
I have Goodyear F1 Supercar tires on my Dodge Challenger, these are super grippy with very low road noise. I think they are so much better than All Season type tires, and I do run Bridgestone Blizzaks in the winter, these are great Winter tires, good grip, long life and low road noise.
Motor on!

Choose a tire with a UTQG of 350 or greater to achieve your 25k mile preference. Of course, that's assuming your alignment is biased to low wear [read: no aggressive camber or toe] and your driving habits involve strictly low g-forces in all axes.
What tire is this?
I'm running g/force sports and get about 45k out of them. With an alignment. I have Koni yellows and h&r springs with upper and lower adjustable control arms and a sway bar. My car is far from stock. If I only got 20k miles I would be pissed and have to buy tires every year.
I have run Dunlop Direzza DZ101 almost exclusively on my R53 and average around 35k miles.
You absolutely must rotate your tires every 3-5k miles or the uneven wear will mean early replacement.
Tire Rack currently has the DZ102 in 205/45 17 for $85 per tire. UTQG of 460.

I have NEVER heard of a mini owner getting that kind of mileage out of a set of tires, especially out of a soft "summer performance" type tire.
Well you have now. I buy tires every other April during the BFGoodrich $70 rebate . Sometimes I put them on the shelf until I need them. I drive just over 20k miles per year for the last 12 years. I have 233k miles on my mini cooper s.
