How do I change a clutch in a 06 S hardtop?

I was on here last week about my poor mini clutch going out and it's most definitely the clutch, throwout bearing, and pressure plate shot in my car :/ but a shop wants $1000 to replace it's D: I going to just do it myself. Step by step how do i?

Alkaidovich,
thank you very much for sharing this video link. This video is exceptionally well made. Good pace. Clear images. Simple verbal instructions provided with clear diction.

no problem!

after doing my coilovers last weekend, i decided youtube was better than DIY for bigger things like this because seeing & watching someone do it is much easier to follow rather than just reading it and trying to figure it out lol

That's my friend Kurt's garage! Be sure to examine your clutch fork/pivot arm thing that is in the bellhousing. One of ours was cracked and you do NOT want to use brute force to try to remove the arm from the fork/pivot as the bellhousing is easily cracked. Mod Mini has a good video on that too, starring my wife's '03.

Having a Bentley Manual to go over things doesn't hurt either.
