Am I the only one who thinks that giving out one's license plate data is a little too much information? It makes it that much easier for thieves to find where you keep your MINI and grab it while you're not looking. Granted, yes, our beloved cars come with an ignition cutoff, but what if we forget to hit the button inadvertently? Or what if they just want to vandalize it? (Like a PT Cruiser car club )
License plate info is one step away from VIN numbers. There are only a few select people who should know your VIN: you, the state you're registered in, and your insurance company. Maybe it's because of my military background, but no one has a need to know but me!

Button? What button? I've had Molly for 5 months now, and never heard anything about any button. My understanding is that this feature is automatically enabled/disabled by the key.

What's the difference between posting it here or parking your car in a public space? Both the VIN and Plate number are perfectly visible to any passerby in the lot or on this website.
Someone sounds a little paranoid to me.

Location and MINI MCS details below in signature.
Plate: Just numbers at the moment. Vanity plate that will be ready for pick up next month is: WANT12
(Actually plate is ready now, but the MA RMV will charge me $50 if I pick it up now and another $50 next month to "renew" --- Can you believe that?! SO I'm waiting till Dec. I'll use the $50 saved for some fun MINI accessories, I'm sure)!
