MAX tire dimensions

Okay wondering if anyone could shred some light on this topic for me.

what is the absolute maximum tire and wheel size you can stick under the mini.

I have a 2005 MCS and want 17in wheels. Im thinking stick with a slightly thicker sidewall at 45 but im wondering what the width can be.

Ive heard that 215 fits all around but I was wondering if i can stick a slightly larger tire in the back (even though its FWD).

Take into account im buying new wheels and tires so would be able to purchase any offset or whatever to get the wheels to fit properly without hitting anything or rubbing.

max tire/wheel size

I run 215/50/17 7.0x 17 37et wheel ,, these are just a tic to big and rub on the plastic wheel arches ,, I clearance them and the tires took care of the rest,, looks cool but have to trim some,, if you went with a 35et,32et you might clear and not rub the outer lip but still have to adjust the back inner plastic liner ,, mine is stock ride height ,,gmonde

I also run 215/45/17 on my mini....I have the OEM "S-Lite" wheels. No issues at all over the stock 205 tire size. I do think I might have lost 1-2mpg from the wider tires though.

What is the offset on those wheels? Looking at aftermarket and want to make sure it's an ideal fit.

Tomorrow I'm ordering 17x7.5 Konig Backbones. I don't remember the offset but I'm quite certain it's close too if not stock offset. What tire would you guys recommend I run with? I believe 215/45/17 is what is on there now. Would like to avoid rubbing without having to trim if possible. Thanks for the help!

We'll from what I've read, if you don't want rubbing they need to be 215/45 R17 or 215/40or35 R18. That is the max with 17 and 18 in wheels

That's what I was thinking of sticking with, if not dropping to a 40 series on the 17. My Mini isn't driven for comfort, it's driven for sport, haha.
