So in the process of fixing my wife's speaker on the driver door, I broke the the tabs on the cushion area, so now I cant reinstall it. When I started researching online I noticed that there is an updated longer version, do they fit on the door panels that came with the shorter cushions? Also, where can I purchase a new one from?

No, the newer (05/06) cushions are longer and the handle is more curved, so it's not a retrofit. You need to glue/tape the cushion back on.

 

That is what I did with mine, two sided adhesive tap and gorilla glue.
