Need some opinions on sprucing my up my Mini

so ive had my 2006 mcs r53 for about 6 months, and i want to make some paint job changes but i cant seem to make up my mind... ill post a pic shortly, but in the mean time, its astro black body with a white top and two white stripes.

one of my first ideas was to do the roof/mirror caps in matte grey and the wheels in white

also considered doing the wheels charcoal or gunmetal and the roof/mirror caps a matte red

so whats your guys opinions? what color do you think for the wheels? and what color for roof and mirror caps?

also plan to "de-chrome" it to match whatever color i do the mirror caps and roof

open to suggestions!

Maybe a nice stripe kit to break things up a little.

I purchased from here. https://www.mini-graphics.co.uk/

For wheels - I think silver spoke wheels like Enkei PFO1 or OZ Superleggera.

I used black Plast-Dip to do some de-chroming of everything but the door handles. I am pleased.

There are shops popping up around that do spray on plastidip for the entire body or various part thereon. You could get something done like that, drive it around awhile and see do you like it and if not, peel it off no harm no foul.

Yea I was looking to go the plasti-dip route. My friend has a air sprayer , so it will look good. I'm just not sure what color schemes will go well with my astro black :/ picture to come!

I appreciate the input, but the bright colors I may avoid! And it has that bluish tint so it makes it hard to use colors like that

I'll +1 on the plasti-dip. It's pretty easy to do. I'd keep it to smaller parts like wheels and mirror caps unless you're really good. A large panel like a roof with out a pano sunroof would be hard to make smooth. Look for some online vids, it's pretty amazing what folks can do.

Yeah I have the pano sun roof, so there really isn't too much roof to cover! Any opinion on color schemes to go with the astro black?

I have the same paint scheme. It had white wheels, but I switched them for the web spoke in gun metal. You can also look into vinyl wrap for caps and roof

How did you like the white wheels with the astro black? In leaning towards white wheels and grey roof and mirror caps. Was going to go plastic dip over vinyl or paint purely because of cost and ability to revert back to normal if I don't like it

Wheel choice is such a personal preference. For me, I didn't like white wheels for my car. I do not mind then on other cars. Too "show room/car show" for me. They were the s-lites, so there was a lot of white.

Ahh understandable. I'm just trying to decide if a matte grey will go well with the astro black
