Of the people who didn't bother getting this option on their MINI, does the car look like its missing these bumper accents to you? Ever since I ordered mine, I've been debating whether or not I should have spend the 120 or so dollars on it. I'd appreciate the input.

I think they look better with the chrome over the "bumps". Mine is a Canadian model - has sport package, etc. Chrome doesn't come with this config. I moaned about it to my sales rep every chance I got but I'll just have to wait and get them as add ons later when they become available. But, some people prefer the look without. Also, some colours need it more than others. Ie. red looks better with, yellow with or without. Just my 2 bits...

I think the Yellow and silvers look OK without the chrome. Red or BRG just look like there's something missing. Black can go either way. Just my own opinion. I'm glad my Chili Red has the chrome.

I'm like troll, I'm getting a red and white MINI in Canada and I ordered the Sport package. I too complain every time I see my dealer that I want the chrome trims. It just looks dam* good and is another styling que to the old mini. they really give the impression of the old chrome bumpers.

I think Dark colors look better with the chrome accents, lighter colors the contrast is more subtle and it does not look as good. My mini is BRG and I would not get this color with out it. I think the chrome gives it a nostalgic 60's look. You should know though that the reason I did not get an S is the lack of chrome on the car and the hood scoop, so I might be a little biased.

With white chrome or lack of chrome is not going to look like something is missing. Of all the colors white will contrast with chrome the least so I think it will just be a mater of taste. I have heard you can add it later so I would just wait.

Are you getting the black roof?

Not to add to the confusion but black bumpers would look sweet with that combo. I know they are not available but who knows?

You have got to stay balanced with what you have. For me, I will always wonder if the white 7 hole rims would have looked sharper on my mini. But, I have the silver and that's the way it is...for now, anyway. The chrome came with the car I purchased. Most of it is not metal. So that might make you feel a bit better about not having it. I like the way it looks on my Mrs. Chippy

Funny you should mention the hood scoop. I've a BRG S on order (White top/wheels/mirrors/stripes), and I noticed that the hood scoop looked a bit underemphasized. While I don't miss the bumper accents, I plan on ordering an extra trim/insert for the scoop (who knows when that might be available on a parts basis), and send it out to the chrome shop, so I can swap it for the painted one as soon as I get it home.

That should look great, I think the S with the scoop is great looking, more modern then the plain cooper. I just wanted to be as retro as possible, maybe because I just turned forty but for whatever reason I love that retro look. If I was a little younger I would go for that S maybe even in Electric Blue.

As far as Mini Colors and Models I know only one thing absolutely - They are all awesome just pick the one that sings to you.

I do have a black roof and mirrors - good thought on the black bumpers, i'll look into that. well since the 'chrome' accents are not actually chrome, I no longer care. for 120 dollars, I thought they would have been. I appreciate the input, its helped me through my waiting period =) and I'm pretty sure most of you guys can relate.

Your spot on with that one. That combo is exactly what I had to have and why an S with all that power was not going to cut it - lack of chrome and cordoba leather is worse than lack of power.

There are help groups for those of us addicted to chrome and leather. But I don't have a problem so I so I don't see a need to call them. Hey I wonder If I could get this computer in chrome ..........

Well it is a damn sexy car! It even survived a big trip to Ikea (god knows how it all fitted in). Had three marriage proposals from fellow motorists so far and some of them were handsome!

I have a red/white with sport package and no accents. I ordered the accent parts from my dealer (about $80). Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to install them. They come with tabs to snap into slots in the bumper. Either I remove the tabs and glue them on (could be difficult to repair/replace) or I cut slots into the bumper to receive the tabs. It's a bit of a quandry. Any advice?

MORE CHROME!!!!
I think that the aftermarket folks are missing something here. Because of the way this car takes design clues from the earlier mini the car looks good with little CHROME touches. I like very much the side vents on the MC S and would like to have chrome on the MC. It occurs to me that chrome side mirrors would look good also.

Based on what I have seen on mini2.com, this site and other sites I think there is (or will be) a demand for the chrome side vents. I hope that when a vendor starts making them they also make a cover for the stock mirror.

I JUSTE A LITTLE CLOSER TO ORDERING NOW
JJJUST #56 IN LINE TO ORDER……
As my daughter would say I’M WAITING…

I was driving her to a store and a very nice 330 convertible passes us…
Joking, I tell here that we could get one of these instead (in my dreams)…
Her response, “NO DADDY, GET A MINI!!!!!!”

I think the MINI would look good with old fashoined chrome mirrors mounted on the fenders.

Hey, Troll...

Writing to you from Winnipeg...
My mini cooper with sport package is due any week now. I'm looking at putting on the chrome bumper inserts after-market, too. Have you done this? Did you get the dealership to put them on? How do they look?
