The ebay listing says it has 3 more available. I just ordered mine so I will verify it's the correct part once I get it. But just wanted to give a heads up. I called their customer service and verified the part is for a Mini cooper S and he gave me a gates part#38404 which I verified at the gates website is the tensior. You can order it direct as well by calling them at 1-800-603-3429

Gates sells for $80 all day....but more like $180+ ish (same part) when in the OEM box...

 

Yeah usually about $100.00 or a little more. But in the MINI box about an arm, leg, and teste

Yeah!!! Too bad they don't ship to Alaska but they ship to Florida.

How often should the belt tensioner be replaced?

 

Just replaced mine at close to 50k mi. The damper dies 1st.

That is a smoking good price. $80 seems to be the norm. I believe I picked mine up from Amazon.

I replaced my tensioner at 89,730 miles with the Gates unit. At 99,7xx now... Works great!

 

It's gone now.......

 

It will be interesting to see if it comes back. The page is still up and is listed as Out of Stock. Does that mean they intend and restocking it?

I guess only time will tell...

 

They have at least three more as I just bought one five minutes ago.

 

Well..... I ordered one yesterday, paid for it, got a confirmation, and today I received a refund because "I ran out of stock"! Wow, thought since it showed they were in stock and they accepted my payment and sent me a confirmation I would be receiving one. It will be interesting to see if once they are back in stock if the price goes up. I'm not a happy consumer!!

Hey guys they just called me and left a message that these are not in stock and are cancelling my order which is BS. eBay also emailed me and told me they were cancelling because I ordered in error and that I had 48 hours to agree or not. I will not agree...let's see what happens....

 

No calls or anything and the guy left me positive feedback. No messages from ebay either on my end....

I was the second original order and mine was cancelled and refunded for the same reason. Think this was a mistaken price that they want a way to weasel out of.

8:00 PM EMail saying they need to cancel because I ordered in error. AND, that I NEED to agree with this !

I'm with Kahnfucious. I'm not going to agree either.

I followed their path to get additional information and refuse to agree. The last page says there is no information yet and to check back later.

The original web page is still up (10:40 PM PDST) and it says four are available. At the same price. It also says that "The listing below has been updated by the seller . . ." but it looks to me to be the same as the page I used to order from.

Oh well, if it looks too good to be true . . .

 

Just got an email from eBay saying back in stock. I ordered it again and got the confirmation. Let's see what happens this time.
