The 2005 Mini pricing game...

Well, it's not official first of all. But, any NAM member who comes closest to guessing the official 2005 Mini prices being announced in July by MINIUSA will be declared the WINNER!!! (Miniusa employees not eligible)

Let's look at the current 2004 MCS pricing structure;

Mini Cooper $16,995 (includes $550 destination charge)
Mini Cooper S $20,449 (includes $550 destination charge)

Looking back, the MCS has gone up only $125 since it arrived in June 2002.
The MC has had a ZERO price increase since it's arrival in April, 2002

I will start the game by guessing first. The MSRP for the 2005 Mini's;

Cooper $17,195
Cooper S $20,595
Cabrio $22,195

According to "J" at MINIUSA, the Cabrio will be +$4k on top of either the Cooper or S.

You all may adjust your fearless predictions accordingly

My fearless prediction:
MC: $16,995 (for consistency with history and increased market share)
MCS: $20,699 (includes $250 of additional electronics you'll never use)
MCC: $25,699 ($5k cause its trendy and they know they can)

I think he means the PT (Cruiser) Convertible (Turbo/GT). PTGT.

That's my best guess, anyway!

Why disqualify?

And why are MiniUSA folks ineligible? I often hear news here faster than they do. We should reccommend this thread to them so that they know more about what the pricing is likely to be.

Thats a relief. After some other rumors, I was scared the S would be around 25k and the convertible around 30k. A little off topic: Does any one know how many MINIs they are going to make in 2005?
