None of the new additions for 2005 cause me to regret getting a 2004 but if 2006 means a bigger engine, I would give serious thought to trading. The CVT is nice but with the a/c on, power is sluggish. A more robust engine would be just what the doctor ordered. Any advance information? Better yet an S with CVT.

Last I heard they are putting a small block Chevy V8 in the '06 SS version.

Should be fun.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist

Well, seriously, we will see a larger engine. It will be a 256hp Peugeot motor.

Seriously.

I'm not sure if we can say for sure much about what will happen for 2006 other than expect some changes. We barely have the changes memorized for 2005 and still no prices yet.

What is better for 2005? For the MC it's the Getrag 5 speed manual.
For the MCS it's the factory installed limited slip differential (in January 05).
While the MCS gets an automatic transmission with paddle shifters it won't be a CVT.

Most other things are more in line with cosmetics.

The stock engines will be a couple 1.6 units and a 1.8 in the MCS. Here's a ton of info about the next generation MINI's engines:

What more could you want? You didn't know it, but you just died and went to heaven.
Now you just have to wait till it arives from "Jolly Old", aka "The Factory".
Enjoy! The possibilities are endless...

I wonder if they will ever consider building a rear wheel drive version, or an AWD version for that matter.
