R53 C130 Car Build

Hey my names Corey I'm from Colorado. I'm a reservist for the airforce and I've recently decided to start a whole new build with my r53. I started already with a rear seat delete and I am trying to make it look like a cargo bay. I also recently bought new wheels, Rotiform Blqs. Anyone locally that wants to help with my build it be much appreciated. Anyone wanna add any ideas or input I'd love to hear it. I'm also going with a classic Japanese look similar to that of old nissans or datsuns. I'll post a random rough draft and progress pics.

Think you will need aluminum cargo floor rails to secure stuff in your cargo bay...
The sabb viggin used aerospace parts for this...actually worked and looked great....the type the double as seat track that are about an inch wide that use d-rings would be perfect IMO...commonly used on smaller freight planes to secure cargo with nets or securing points for straps....
Might be able to get some as salvage...the d-rings that click in can be as almost $100 each...but can be found a bit cheaper.

Could've stayed British Racing Green and had the graphics, that's just my .02

Regardless, I'm looking forward to your Boso-Mini C130 build. One request, dual angle exhaust pipes shouldn't go above the roofline.
Subscribed.

Exhaust will not be that long hahaha and BRG is beautiful but everyone I know has it. Plus imo decals are cheesy unless it's a full vinyl wrap.

Are you going to make a template for rivets and spray them on the primer before you do decals. Looks freakin dope. Love the exposed rivet flares. Where did you find those at? More Shakotan than Boso which is more my style preference from Japan

Everything will be airbrushed on except the teeth. I might not keep them on for long. I might find another method to make the rivets actually look and feel like rivets. I have seen on some steampunk forums that people use things like googley eyes and then glue and paint. Idk yet.

Lol it said you love men on my email notification. :p but they are universal fender flares that you kind find anywhere online. Made of Fiberglass. We are working in filling the space that isn't covered and making them flush where the hood opens.

yeah, I mistyped and caught it. Don't tell my wife.

so universal flares huh, any sites you recommend. did you cut the backs where they meet up to the rear bumper flare?
I dig em and I'd rock them on my cooper and I was kinda looking for a set for my 242 Turbo race car.

Good catch haha and yup they definitely take some work to make them fit and you have to drill and screw them in but they look beautiful haha. I'll find a pic or link one sec

They were these ones. I measured my arches first and made sure they were wide enough to fit the outside line on the arches. Usually the stock ones cover the line I wanted these to aswell.

I am liking this idea!

My dear old Dad was on the team that designed the fuselage of the C-130 at Lockheed way back when...always had a soft spot for the Herky Bird.

My own R53 is Pure Silver with a black roof and being a big fan of the early Jet Age I have more than once thought about finding a way to incorporate Royal Air Force Tiger Squadron or Treble One markings onto it as they would appear on an English Electric Lightning F.3 interceptor.Food for thought.

Looking forward to seeing this one done...my kids are all in the Air Force!

Im sorry but you're doing japanese inspired stuff to a german built english car....who does that ?

The car does not look good, the oil cooler + lines you put on look terrible (the lines are way too long and sloppy looking)...Get your self a honda or toyota and do stuff like this.

THUMBS DOWN
