Curious if new MINI owners are still removing these. I was in a new
BMW 325xi this week and saw the warning sticker again.

I remember when I initially came to NAM, (MCO), it was the first thing
I learned from the site, and I was so excited to use the information to
clean up the interior clutter. I bought the denatured alcohol, soaked
some paper towel and held it to the stickers, and they rubbed right off
just like I was told they would.

...ah memories of when my MCS was new!

Godspeed.

The interior is more aesthetic without the warning labels. Of course, now everyone needs to sign a six page waiver.

Denatured alcohol is available at hardware stores. Rubbing alcohol works well too.

Denatured works better and faster. You can get it at any drug store. It’s not on the shelf you’ll have to ask where they fill prescriptions.

Do the stickers dissolve away or does the alcohol let you peel it off?

I did not find denatured alcohol at the pharmacy of my local "superstore". The fellow didn't have it behind the counter, nor did other local pharmacies which he was kind enough to call for me.

I meandered over to the household paint supplies and found it there.

Acetone also works very well, and can be found in the paint section of hardware stores. The stickers don't melt away or peel off - they do both. It takes some rubbing with a rag dampened in the solvent, but they will come off cleanly with no damage or residue. Did mine a couple of weeks ago.

Before any accidents occur-

Warning.

Don't spill any of these solvents interior or exterior.

Denatured alcohol will remove your exterior body paint especially on any areas that are not clear coated like in the engine bay.

It is safe to use on glass but be careful.

Thanks Emilio

Wouldnt that leave a mark where the adhesive was? Or at least where you put the denatured alcohol?

Ya know something CoopDawg?

Removing my warning stickers has been one of my favorite mods!

After the Pulley, of course, and the ECU, and the CAI, and the interior leather and chrome upgrades, and the .....

Yes definitely one of my favs.

They're on ebay all the time. Do a search for 'mini cooper sticker'.

It didn't work for me. I used denatured alcohol and the sticker came off fine but I have a big black spot. I kept scrubbing on it and even tried gu-be-gone with no luck. Any ideas?

You sure about the denatured alcohol? The instructions that came with my bonnet stripes said to clean the paint were the stripes were going to be with denatured alcohol to remove the wax. I did this and nothing bad happened.

Denatured alcohol helps to remove oil from surfaces before applying things like the invishield or your bonnet stripes. Your clear coat acted like a barrier to protect your paint. I have used denatured alcohol very sparingly to remove tree sap from my exterior surfaces on my MINI. Just be careful.

No telling what it might do if you spill it in a bad place that doesn't have clear coat like the interior plastic parts. I can tell you that by error I did try to clean up a spot in my engine bay on the painted body colored area and the denatured alcohol promptly removed all my blue paint down to the light colored primer very easily- it was like paint remover. There was no clear coat on that area. I would guess that the recessed parts of the rear hatch would be at risk as well.

Just be careful.

Right up there with "brake light mod". To remove visors - 2 triangular plugs cover the screws. Insert eyeglass size screwdriver straight into middle of side closest to stem of visor,it will come out like a thorn (for lack of a better discription). Two phillips, one elec.plug. Unroll cotton ***** (they do that) lay them over decals, pour alcohol, wait, roll off decals. some glue will remain. shiny spots. Elbow grease and fore mentioned alcohol soaked cotton ***** eventualy remove it. You might try goop-off instead of elbow grease, but make sure its safe, for I did not use it.

The reason I removed the visors was threefold. #1) I was curious how to remove visors. #2) Blotting alchol up, too risky #3) elbow grease works much better applied downward (substitute for eyeglass screwdriver-- paperclip smacked with hammer)
