Exhaust help!

Im looking for an answer from someone who has done this. I am looking to remove the catalytic converter and run the down pipe with 02 sensor spots. by doing this and running it into a cat back system will it make my car run shitty?

I know it will set the check engine light off but will it affect the mpg majorly in a negative way? I want my car to be loud so im not worried about drone. Although im open to all and any tips from NAMERS who have done this also.

Will i need to pick up any hangers from autozone or does the exhaust come with everything needed? ill post links to where im going to by the system.

the car wont run any differently, you will just have a check engine light saying the cat is bad... but you dont have one so how could it? =)

mpg may actually increase, less force trying to push the exhaust gases. but im sure itll go down cause your gunna put the hammer down.

borla should have the stock locations preety close, unless you break an exhaust mount like i did, im sure you wont need to get one. plus i couldnt get one at auto zone

You do realize on a NA motor, the most you will gain is about 1 hp....some cars can gain ALMOST 3 HP with an aftermarket exhaust...lol...so it is all about sound...
Modern cats are very efferent and LOW backpreasure....unlike the 70's and 80's....the manufactures KNOW it was an easy way to improve performance and get better mpg...so gains are nearly nill....slightly different on a turbo car...where cat removal can help a turbo spool...
Good luck...you seem to be hell bent on trying to destroy your ride....you could just thrash it till the tranny fails...it is the weak-point on a cooper...then get a new car...
The cooper is about the drivers skill, not pure speed...and a cooper, driven by a GOOD driver can BEAT an S driven by an OK driver on a twisty road or auto-x course......just saying...before you do permanent changes that strip lots of $$$ from your car, know that SOMEDAY you may want to sell it, get some $$$ to buy you next DREAM car...

You do realize that I have already come to the realization of little to none performance wise and I'm going for that deep throaty loud growl. And I'm not stupid I'll disassemble the stock exhaust and reassemble it for the resell. I like my NA coop and speed to much without a turbo I'm not looking to get one.

Removing the cat usually makes a small displacement higher reving motor sound buzzy.....raspy...
Some good aftermarket exausts (milteck was one on the s) can make it deeper...but most make it worse.
Keep the parts, experiment, have fun!!

borla for the r53 sounds really nice, i love my magnaflow, granted right now between 2700-2900 i have a buzz, but thats a broken exhaust hanger. too cold to fix in febuary.

the remus system sounds nice as well, you could get a remus muffler and have the shop weld it in
