Got a small rip moving crap over the weekend. It's about 1"by 1" in an L shape. (on the bottom piece)

1. How can I tell if these seats are leather, or leatherette?
2. Anyone have a good product for repairs?
3. Anyone willing to sell me their back seat (or at least the leather)? Or trade me seats if you don't care about rips? Lol

1. If there is any kind of fabric backing on the material your seats are vinyl (leatherette).

2. If you have comprehensive coverage on your auto policy that should cover it for you. Most policies are worded "damage other than collision loss". Many people have zero deductible for comprehensive. Also a comp claim should not have any impact on your insurance rates. Check with your agent.

 

You could always just buy a new seat cover from one of the venders on this site. Replacement should be simple.

 

Or it could be a good time to consider a rear seat delete.

 

I see them all the time on Ebay. ie Mini cooper seats for sale

 

So many folks do "rear seat deletes" or make cars into track cars...and have never used the rear seat...should be able to find one CHEAP!!

the STYLE of the seats were different for the vinyl than the leather!

 

If your back seat is black plastic vinyl, I have a set from my 2004 R53 that I can sell you cheap, say $50 plus cost of shipping for the lower...or the entire rear seat (lower and both seat backs) for $80 plus shipping..send me an email or PM offline and I can help you out.

I don't know what part of Florida you are in but the company I work for does vinyl and leather repair.
Dr Vinyl is the name, do a search but there are at least 7 in the state. good repairs and not much money.

 

If your front seats have a lumbar adjustment **** they are leather. If not, leatherette.
