Should I go for it?

Hi guys. First of all I am a new member, as you can tell, here I have been dreaming about a Mini for the longest time but I wasn't able to get one for so many different reasons. Finally I am in a place where I can get one. I just sold my Z3 and am in the market for a Cooper S. I found a 6 speed 2005 Cooper S with 40K miles in immaculate shape. The owner is asking $11K for the car. It is in grey color with all the bells and whistles as much as I can tell. The owner also claims that he has all the service records available. I will of course try to bring the price down as much as I can but I don't want to low ball the seller either. What do you guys think a fair offer would be? Thanks in advance

Welcome!

I have a 2005 MCS with about 109k miles, purchased from a Toyota dealership last November...more than what you will be paying for yours with taxes and such.
$11k sounds like a pretty good deal, especially the mileage and recorded maintenance.
I wouldn't let someone else scoop it up....

My 2005 non-s was recently totaled, the insurance co determined the value with 97,000 and no extra features at $9,100. I bought a 2008 s cabrio with 24,000 for $18,500 plus taxes/fees. So I think you have a great deal on your hands.

Maybe offer $9-9,500 and hope to get it for $10-10,500, but I would even go for the original offer.

Go for it! I bought my '03 Cooper S for $9000 with 96,000 and mine had all the bells and whistles. $11,000 seems like a great offer!

11k is a great price for 40k miled and a 2005! which is suppose to be a bit refined compared to the earlier years

im sure you can bring it to 10 if the seller feels you really want it

Great price. Go for it. See how low you can get him and then drive home. Be prepared for your face to hurt real bad from the constant smiling while driving.

April 2013 near Portland OR: 2005 MCS, heated seats, Chrono pack, 17" SLites,.... Only thing it didn't have I wanted was Xenon HID's

72k miles, new tires, decent brake pad thickness.

I paid $10,500 plus title, licence fees.

I think you found a good deal.

I looked at an 06 with around 40k, loaded with everything, he wouldn't go under $14 -I had to pass,

Edit, the one I passed on was a JCW (important detail, ya think?)

Unfortunately it was not. A family emergency came up and I had to deal with that. Which cost me more than what I was going to spend for the car. Well, at the end of the day the health is the most important thing isn't it?
