I am curious how it's working out for you, especially, if you are in the real estate industry.

I will be, but I am awaiting my state test.

I have had a realtor in Tampa with a red mini contact me and I was interested in locating them again.

I am shopping for a brokerage to hang my liscense at.

I am taking my state test in three weeks and I hope to be working, intially, in the industry, part time.

I'm a commercial RE broker. I use the MINI sometimes with clients - one of them fits inside it better than in my Audi (he runs about 300lbs).
I also race it and put my company's logo on the outside when I do for marketing exposure.

Are you sure your name isn't Gary Hart? Donna Rice was quite nice looking at the time!

I was thinking I could meet clients at different locations using the MINI and putting my friends RE brokage on the side of the car for advertising exposure. We have a full size Lexus I could use when clients need to be driven around.

Intially, it would be part time because I have a decent paying tech job, and I will have to build up some clientele before going full time.

I'm not in the real estate business, but I do use my MINI for business purposes. Now how you define that is the real question? I added vinyl to make it look more sporty, as well as providing URLs and logos for my company/product. I also modified a stock rubber boot mat extension (seat back cover) so that it's in my car all the time--so I can fold up or down the seats and still be protected. This allows me to haul items from our manufacturing plant--35 miles away to the corporate office.

Now if you're wondering whether the size of the car matters for Real Estate, I had one realtor show me some properties while driving his Z3.

I think for my purposes I would be using it to show clients around or meet them at different locations and to prospect or look at different neighborhoods. I think it's giong to be a great advertising tool because of it's looks.

Besides, that I want to have a good time driving it around. I think that's the main thing..and writing a portion off on my taxes is just icing on the cake.

Well the MINI is versatile, and you can definitely use it to show clients around, whether you're talking residential (husband/wife), or commercial---just the client and or their assistant. Capacity should be fine.

Better watch out though. My guess is that you'll end up helping selling MINI's rather than property! Might want to strike a deal with a local MINI dealer, and refer all your "customers" to them. LOL

I am an appraiser and an agent. I use the 2004 S to do appraisals and park the classic Mini outside when I do an open house - it is like a people magnet! Since I rarely represent buyers and don't drive people around, it is not a problem. I know a few Realtors around town who also drive Minis.

It sounds like the MINI will be very useful for my future endeavors. Can't wait to get it...still in production

Bringing this back up to see if the posters above are still around, or if other R.E agents have joined the MINI fold?

I'm in my prelicensing class, and have been discussing the business with one of the local 'Premium' brokers. It seems that there are good/bad points about doing business in a Cooper, but I have been instructed to test the waters, before rushing out to buy a new car.

Any new thoughts on the topic?

I stopped using the MINI for work in September 2005 and only use it for weekend/club events now. While doing appraisals, I got tired of rowing around town with the stick shift while trying to take notes and photos at the same time. On the Realty side, many of the buyers that I deal with are baby-boom generation and older people - the back seat of the MINI is just not suitable for driving people around (although it is rare that I do anyway since I primarily list properties, rather than represent buyers.)

I am in sales (signs) and if only one client is going with me to a job site, I drive. If more than one, they often argue over who gets to ride with me . One client refers to it as the blue beast! LOL (He is now shopping for his own)
I ran an extension from the rear power plug up front for my laptop and power the Bell65 from the front. Regular rolling office.
I do not drop off the curb into constructions sites that I used to with the P/U but no complaints on that either! I am averaging just over 3k mi per month and serious road days are not dreaded anymore! Clients actually ask me what mods I have added since the last time we met! LOL

Im with Rick.. i too do not have the luxury to babysit the MT while i go to work...so
my MCS started out as a commuter, but later upgraded to weekend-car
class.

i might get me a cvt or MCSa to replace my current pos commuter
(04 civic) but not sure yet. ive been thinking about it for a long time, but
i may have to get something more in the line of a crosswagon/mini-van
for the wife and use my legacy for the commute. I like the legacy so it's
no issue for me, but was hoping to have a 2nd MINI... i like the current
MINI design so need to make up my mind pretty quick before the 06's
are gone.

Not a real estate agent (or in any kind of sales) here. I've had a MINI full of co-workers and they're always surpised at the amount of room they have. Still, it seems to me that climbing into or out of the MINI's rear seat can be pretty awkward for an adult, and I wouldn't like to be in the situation of asking tall-client-in-the-front-seat to move his/her seat forward to accommodate tall-client-in-the-back-seat. But like I said, I'm not in the biz...

Hey there,

I am an electrical contractor - I use my 04 MCS whenever I can to go do bids, inspect jobs, etc... I use it about 25% of the time.

It's fun to drive, and it gets better MPG then my company truck

My Mini is my work car, I do sales for construction. I drive to my sales appointments, but not with clients in the car. I was worried about the space for all my sales books and oversized breifcase, had to do a little resizing but it was well worth it. After 19 years in sales, I learned the more I deal with people, the more I like my dog, so usually the ride in my Mini is the best part of my day!

Drafting...

...plans for homes (not NASCAR, gotcha). I motor to the print shop almost every day. I meet clients on site, or wherever they will give me a check! Visiting the engineer's office more thanks to the so-called International Building Code requirements. I work at home, so my commute is 30 seconds out the back door!
The MINI makes a better designer's car than say a Pontiac Aztek, or Avalanche, or...

Bumping up thread.
Yesterday a repeat customer that I haven't seen for awhile noticed my MINI and said his daughter just received a new MINI that was ordered 6 months ago!
Another customer's name is Bergamini.
Just can't avoid the MINI syndrome.
