R50/53 Escort 8500 X50

Anyone own an Escort 8500 X50? Any feedback on how well it works???
It would seem, being that the original 8500 was close (or surpasses) the
V1 in performance that the X50 would be a better buy? I've seen em on
E-bay for ~$260, lots better than near $400
I have a 7500, but am getting kinda sick of it's poor KA performance.
Laser is bad, a few secs @ most!
