I'd be interested in knowing how many MINI owners also own (and use) Apple Computers. It seems to me that these two products stand out in a crowd and isn't that part of the reason we have bought them? To stand out - and get a high quality product all at thge same time?

I wish I would have invested in Apple when you posted this.

I've had Macs for as long as I can remember. My main computer is a MBP and I'm currently typing this on my iPhone 4.

Edit...I just realized the OP posted this in 2002.... Geez...lol talk about a revival.

I purchased my first macbook pro about 6 months ago, and will never go back to a PC. I've also owned every iPhone that has ever come out. I can see a connection between Apple users and MINI drivers.

Wow. No matter where you go (even in a mini forum... wtf.) some Apple fan boy wants to talk about his mac device...

Who cares. Apple rapes everyone who owns their products. AND THEY LIKE IT!

Not Me. I can get 3 to 4 laptops.... For my whole family that would out preform most any macbook for the price of for less than the price of one of the damn things.

If ya like them, then that's fine. But when the fad is over, I'll be there to tell ya, "Apple Blows!"

I had numerous PCs over the years, work and personal, and liked them just fine. The one main advantage I see with my Macs is no viruses, ever. With my PCs I was forever paying someone to clean them up and cure them of whatever virus was out there. So while I pay more at the outset for the Apple I make it back tenfold not having to deal with a "sick" computer 3-4 times a year.
I know one should be more selective with what and who they visit on the internet, but I'm a rebel like that .
I still have my PCs at work and they are good for what they are there for, and the Macs are good for their purpose, too. I don't know why someone has to get worked up about what other people use, kind of like trying to tell someone what kind of car to drive if you ask me .

So, I have to say, PCs will only get a virus if you A.) Have a bad antivirus or no antivirus. or B.) are stupid. I have had a PC for 10 years, you wanna know how many viruses I've had? ZERO

For a living at this point in time, I make my money by repairing PCs. This week alone, I have relieved at least $1000 from people who had viruses. They all fell into one(or more) of the two previously noted categories.

+1 on your comment. I to worked as a tech at one point in life and we had so many people bring in computers with the I don't know what happened it was fine yesterday.

Plus a virus would mostly never do any damage to your computer, might make it slow or crash but they can always be brought back with some computer knowledge.

No need to call names. Actually I don't think I'm stupid at all, but hey, you can form your opinion however you like. Generally I like to actually meet someone first, but I'm old fashioned like that.

I did have antivirus on every PC I had, and was forever updating it(talk about colossal pain in the butt, EVERY time you're in a rush it suddenly has to do yet another 30 minute long update). I was weaned on PCs. I spent many hours programming for the airlines in the 80's/90's and there are many aspects I prefer; but for my day to day life now, not having to worry about where I go on the internet for fear of getting some random bug is a happy place for me.
Lazy, yep, that's probably a better description of me, now. While I use my Mac for our business because I have to, it's mostly for enjoyment now. I liken my time online like a mini vacation, and I hate to think about bad things happening when I'm on the beach.

Sadly, I'm generally a Cynical, blunt, a**hole. I have found that its much easier to assume the worst about people and be surprised, than to give people the benefit of the doubt and be let down. So don't take it personally, It's a stereotype and you might not fit into it.

Where I live there is an Apple store almost right next to the Microsoft store. I have always been afraid to go into the Microsoft store because I don't want to catch a virus.
As they say- once you go mac, you never go back.

Annette, it always amazes me when I see pareto's law in action.

80 percent of the posters in this thread are quite civil like you, but then 20 percent can't seem to figure out how to act in public.

I assume I'm about 1/3 of that law. But I'd rather tell the truth(and look like bad) than lie through my teeth(and be like a lot of the population of this country). O well, what anyone else thinks of me doesn't matter.

Time to sit back and watch the me bashing.

No prob, I can be a ring-tail b**ch when I get riled sometimes, though usually it's in reference to dogs, dog training or breeding(I'm always in trouble on the Pedigree database forums ).

I'm guessing you are a Tolkien fan and was wondering if you had read any of the Game of Thrones books? A client of mine gave me the first book since he and I discuss books pretty regularly. Anyway, he heard it was going to be a series on HBO so gave me the book since he figured I'd be watching the series. So far, so good.

Definately a Tolkien fan, I'm sure a lot of folks here will thank me for this next part. As I'm sure you know, My screen name "Agarwaen(pronounced uh-gar-wine)" Is sindarin(a form of Tolkien Elvish) for Bloodstained. I haven't read those books, but I have now put them on my kindle list. I've actually been sticking to books by Matthew Reilly recently(probably not something you'd like, Think Tom Clancy without the character development and the main characters avoiding certain death every 5 seconds.).
