Does anyone have any idea were this may be coming from

I tried to upload a picture from my phone but it won't work but there is a bunch of oil or something getting flung everywhere on the dipstick side and it smokes after driving for a while or hard driving but my oil lever doesn't seem to be going down

That looks like coolant. If so, probably a leak in the radiator.

It looks like oil before it dries up but I don't think oil looks like that does it it is even going up on the headlight light like its getting on the belt and flinging it everywhere

If your oil level isn't going down is your coolant level going down? Because it looks like coolant to me as well..lol..

If you cant see it coming from a location in your car I would pressurize your cooling system...That is the easiest way to spot a leak... Sometimes by just running the car is very hard to tell where it is at.. It evaporates before you can see it.. But by the way you make it sound...it sounds like you have a good size leak..lol

I would make sure your coolant is full and start the car and let it idle...and watch and see if you can spot anything.. But just becareful while looking...lol.. It might be a water pump.. Or the thermostat housing could be leaking.. just to name a few...

You would have to bring it in to get pressurized.. I have my own pressurizer that I bought.. But it has come in very handy.. It looks like a over sized football pump..lol..

Ya but it would have to be coming from that side because all the dried up coolant or whatever is only on that side of the car

Just guessing here...But I think it might be your water pump...lol.. So as your standing in front of the car is the leak in the front left side?

I am thinking if you think a coolant leak is an oil leak (very different smell, feel and look), you should 1, fill the coolant, then
2,bring the car someplace to get it looked at or fixed....
hate to be that blunt, but it sounds like you might need help beyond what an internet forum can provide. A friend who knows a bit about cars might be able to help you!!
Good luck, and please post what you find!!

That's why I feel its the water pump... Its in that location.. plus that tends to be a common thing to go out..lol.. Now with that said that does not mean at all that it is the water pump...It could be anything.. The best thing for you to do is have it looked at.. Because your still not sure if its oil or coolant.. Plus I don't know how much you work on your own cars when it comes to this type of thing.. Ive been working on MINIs for awhile now..with out seeing it..it would be wrong for me to tell you forsure what is wrong with it.. If you have any questions I would be more then happy to give you ideas of what it could be.. It would be up to you to verify the problem.. Good Luck and keep us posted

I must differ with 'ZippyS'. That clearly looks to me as if it is near the pulley end of the supercharger; water pump is at the other end.

That is my fault.. I should ask if you are talking driver side or passenger side so I don't get confused myself.. JAB 67 good catch on that! Thanks!!!

Since the end of the radiator hose IS just in the edge of the picture...it might have chafed, or have a small leak....feel around...look around. Changing a hose is easy...but bleeding a gen1 mini is a pain once it hasgone low on coolant....
that and i bet you car might be overdue for a full coolant change..THE MOST overlookeditem in mini mx. Next thing....look at the radiator....they can leak on mini's where the plastic is crimped onto thr metal part...all modern oem rads are built like this....aftermarket copies are $85-90, oem is like $300+.
