Proper serpentine belt for 2002 R50

Is this the proper serpentine belt for my 2002 manual R50?

ContiTech Multi Rib Belt : Amazon.com : Automotive ContiTech Multi Rib Belt : Amazon.com : Automotive

I've seen different things online saying the length is anywhere from 1033mm to 1040+mm. Also, what's the recommended change interval for these belts? I'm about to roll over 80k miles, and I'm not sure if it's ever been done on my 2002 Astro Black body and roof R50 coop, Kiwi (for you rugby fans out there).

Thanks in advance for any advice! Oh, and I hope my local shop buddy has the belt tool, I'd hate to spend $50 on a tool to install a $12 belt!

That belt seems to be for the "S" model (R53), and my coop is of the R50 variety. Also, (if the correct belt), the one I posted above is easily the best price I've seen (under $13), which makes me unsure if it's the right one......

The belt you need is here, should look like this for the R50 MINI.

We have the OEM MINI & the Contitech: 6PK-1033

Changing the belt can be a little hard, it much easier if you have the tool as it will hold the tensioner out of the way to snake the belt around the pulleys.

Has you belt started to squeak or visually worn.

Thanks

Thanks for the response!

My belt hasn't started to squeak, and it doesn't look that bad from what I can see, but my car is about 10 years old at this point with 80k miles on it, and I'm not sure it's ever been done.

Is there any real difference in the OEM and the contitech belt? Is one rated to last longer than the other?

Just different main brands dependent on the model. Continental ( contitech ) is the brand for some OEM MINI belts. Yes, with that millage and years on original it's good insurance to change. Good belt none the less.

Let me know if you need any other parts and thanks.

Thanks so much for the help! I'm a bit partial to Continental, as my road (pedal) bike for years had their tires, and they have a factory about 15 miles from my house.

Anyway, I'm a bit of a tinkerer with the car - currently its my daily driver, but I would like to eventually use it as a weekend warrior track car. Let me get it though the remainder of it's warranty first, though!

Any suspension parts that you would recommend? Everything suspension wise is still stock, and original as far as I know.

Here's a how-to I came up with, plus discussion of belt sizes. The one you found may be a better fit, although the 1039's I have used on our two cars haven't squealed at all.
