Plasti Dip

Hey guys
I have some bad road rash on my cooper.
I was looking into dr pain chip but im thinking im just going to save up for a pontjob and a clear bra. Until then i have bare metal showing on my cooper and i DO NOT want rust. I was thinking of Plasti Dipping my entire Bonnet and to match, my Boot as well. I have pepper white with the black roof. I like the contrast of this car and i think if i return the grill to white leave the scoop white and flat black the rest would look pretty cool. I have the flat black wheels and trim. One thing, when i take the plasti dip off to get a repaint will the paint on the bonnet and boot then mismatch the rest of the car? (fade) What do you guys think?

If you're going to plasti dip, do it by the gallon with a sprayer, don't do it out of rattle cans.

You can also vinyl wrap your car - I say this to a lot of things on this forum.

You can use the cans to do it. I friend of mine has his MINI painted with it and they used the cans.... a LOT of them

to use the sprayer, is more of a fine technique, there is a guy that explains it really well where he uses a audi s4 and starts from scratch showing how to mark things off and a decent technique to applying... but its alot of coats at a light spray, its not like coloring, and its all in the shoulder and wrist, need to keep a constant distance away with the spray gun

My last two cars I dipped the emblems and wheels and as soon as the weather hits the upper 50's I'm gonna do my cars body in white and roof in black
To be honest if your gonna do your hood you could do it with rattle cans would take about 7 coats to get full coverage
Just watch some of fonzies vids on YouTube to get a better idea how to do it correctly, use his techniques and shouldnt have any stripes , if you go the rattle can route then Id suggest about 4-6 cans
But to answer your question about your hood fading or anything nope won't happen , not only does plastidip change the color on what ever you spray it also protects it and is 100% reversible so even if you mess up the only thing you lost was a few bucks

But when doing large areas a spray gun and a gallon of plastidip is 'recommended' not entirely needed though , good luck
