With gas prices going up it's nice to know that a little conservative driving can net over 40 mpg. Probably be even better at a steady 50 mph......of course you'd quickly get run over.

Been keeping track over the last 1,700 miles. Have had an average of 20.6 mpg at
an avg. speed of 21.6 mph according to the OBC. The real math says 18.7 mpg.
There is also a 1.05/1.00 ratio between mph and mpg......mostly suburban, some city.

This is with an '02 Cooper S......Helix 15% pulley, Pilo intake and ignition system,
B&M short shifter.

Well, I am only getting 23.83 MPG (my figures) or 25.2 MPG (OBC) in my 2004 Cooper S. I hope it improves as the engine breaks in.

40+ mpg You guys are measuring on UK gallon or 4.5 liter which works out to 33.7 is us mpg. Which I admit is still good. I was just having a cow over 40+ mpg. Anyone out there keeping their milage? I am really curious what everyone is getting. Please list MC or MCS.

OH ... that's at 7,000 feet ASL where the air is thin.
