anyone know where i can find engine internals? i want to rebuild me engine. im just looking for piston rings and bearings. well actually i found bearings. i just cant find rings. every search i come up with is for pistons rods and rings. which i don't want. everything else im good with just cant find rings.

engine has 135k miles and though well sense im taking out the trans anyway might as well do a comp/leakdown test see whats up, also check the crank bearings to see how bad they are. send SC to be serviced pop in a new clutch and tranny and the car should be like new again!

Damn, that's a lot of work! must cost a fortune. I need to look into sc maintenance soon too. Where are you getting it done?

for the SC dont know yet, as for complete head gasket set its 200, im gonna clean the head my self and lap the valves make sure they seal nice and tight.

another 245 for rings. and ( i cant find it now, should have bookmarked it) $20 per bearing for the crank

well the other reason im doing this is, the chassis is in very good condition and i want to keep the car forever lol so thought i might redo the engine too.

well started late today so only got a few things taken care of, so trans should come out tommorow.

for those of you that dont know i lost 6th gear it just wont engage anymore some im taking out and apart just to see if its something really stupid. to cathc up look here

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-6th-gear.html

and here

just copy and past and remove the space... dont know why nam is not letting me post the link but i think its ridiculous. and very annoying

http://www.motoring alliance/forums/cooper-s/16932-help-i-lost-6th-gear.html

anyway got a question does the trans mount look way to loose? the disc like bushing are really loose and flop around but i tried shaking the engine as hard as i could and it would budge.

Transmission bushings should flop around like you are saying. Wouldn't be a bad idea to replace them though as everything is out.

The floppy part is part of the bushing. You'll replace it all with the power flex ones

If your throwout bearing exploded you probably will as mine was pretty beat up. I would just check the guide tube when you take it apart for scarring. If it's scared replace it, but if not I wouldn't worry about it.
